Allandale is a charming older neighborhood in Northwest Austin offering a unique sense of community and small-town feel.  It is a close knit neighborhood. This great subdivision is bounded by Anderson Lane to the north, Shoal Creek at 45th Street to the south, Burnet Road to the east, and MoPac on the west. Allandale is served by the Austin Independent School District and Allandale Neighborhood Association.

Allandale is characterized by its charming homes built between the 1940s and 1960s.  Though most homes there have been remodeled with modern appliances and features, most have preserved their classic charm.  Allandale home prices range from the mid-$200s to the low $700, with homes appreciating considerably over recent years. The price per foot has been steady or increased even considering our economy.

Most would agree that Allandale embodies a unique sense of community found few other places in Austin.  Allandale has a good mixture of families, new homeowners and long-time resident.  Allandale’s classic homes and mature trees add to its small-town charm.

Many people choose Allandale for its convenient location.  It is located near many of Austin’s best places to work, attend school, and shop.  It’s proximity to major roadways such as Mopac, Hwy 183,  Loop 360, and IH-35, make traveling anywhere in the greater Austin area conveniently easy.

Allandale is also home of the pathway for some of the annual running races. The ideal route is filled with marathon runners in February and is a great location for running, biking, and walking due to its terrain.

Living in Allandale means you will always be close to great places to enjoy the outdoors.  Northwest Park is a great park in Allandale offering a pool, courts for tennis and basketball, baseball fields, a fishing pond, and areas for picnicking.  For those with pets, there’s also a great dog park close to home.

Allandale homes are also just minutes from unique shops and great places to explore.  On Koenig and Burnet Road you will find a treasure of vintage boutiques, and antiques stores as well as locally owned shops from neighborhood tailors and florists to sandwich shops and pizzerias.  Allandale also has, Yarbrough Public Library, an excellent place to enjoy some quiet or hold a community gathering.  It is also close to the original Kolache shop and some homegrown restaurants.

Allandale is also an ideal family community.  Students attend these great Austin ISD schools: Gullett or Wooten Elementary, Burnet or Lamar Middle and Lanier or McCallum High School.  There are also excellent private schools in the area including Austin Montessori School on Great Northern Blvd., Odyssey School on Houston Street, and the Griffin School on East 41st.
